Today we discussed the homework that was assigned yesterday. Who was Robert Hooke and what did he do? etc.
We also began learning the proper way to handle a microscope and labeled the parts of a microscope. We read about the discovery of cells on pages 50 through 57. The class had discussion and picked out the important topics to take notes on.
Homework: answer questions 1 - 4 on p. 57 in the science book Today the students took their first Unit Test. It was truly a success!!! All A's and B's. You all have done a super job!
Tomorrow we will start a new Unit. Remember, the extra credit experiment is due on Friday, September 19th. Students did a review worksheet on Unit 1. We discussed the answers afterwards.
Study your notes! TEST on Wednesday! Today our students presented their finding of te classification of their organism with the class. Many of these organisms had the same Domain, Kingdom, and Phylum. We have displayed these on the bulletin board.
Tonight students need to make the Domain/Kingdom wheel that was assigned at the end of class. Also,they should study their notes and definitions. They may use Quizlet. QUIZ tomorrow! TEST next Wednesday!!! We finished our bread mold lab. We discussed Domain and kingdoms in more depth. Each student was assigned aan organism to research the classification and record it.
Quiz on Friday Today we took notes and discussed taxonomy. We created a table with the information on the three domains and their kingdoms.
Tonight we will read over all of our notes and practice our vocabulary on Quizlet.com |
