Today we took notes and discussed taxonomy. We created a table with the information on the three domains and their kingdoms.
Tonight we will read over all of our notes and practice our vocabulary on Quizlet.com We took a quiz today on Chapter 2, Section 1. Then, we observed and recorded our finding on the bread mold. Lastly, we discussed how things are organized in a grocery store and why they might be organized that way.
Homework: Read your handout and write the QUIZ TOMORROW!Your quiz is on Chapter 2, Section 1 of your science book. All the material and vocabulary that we have covered so far.
In class today, we answered questions from p. 40 in the science book and practiced a vocabulary quiz. Students also recorded Day 1 of the Bread Mold experiment. Remember, you may go to Quizlet to practice your knowledge. Today we discussed the Needs of All Living Things. The notes are attached. We also started our "Please Pass the Bread" experiment. Homework: Read Chapter 2, Section 1 in your book and Study your notes Quiz on Thursday!
Today we discussed The Characteristics of ALL Living Things. We watched a slide show (below) with the discussion. Also, we did some reading and writing of vocabulary words. Those words are on the site Quizlet. You can take practice tests and play games to help learn these words. A Quiz has been assigned for Thursday, Aug. 27.
We began class with students creating a venn diagram showing similarities and differences with a classmate. We were discussing characteristics. Next, we watched the following video, "Introduction to the Characteristics of Life". Then we pondered the idea of Today we shared a little bit about ourselves. We wrote down our favorite subject in school, our least favorite subject in school, something others may not know about us, etc. Mrs. Kessinger also went over our syllabus with us as well.
